Stout Auto Parts
Warranty Policy

Plain English first: every part we sell is new, but we source a lot of our inventory through bulk liquidation purchases — so we usually can't confirm whether the original manufacturer's warranty carries over to a specific item. Instead of guessing, we back everything ourselves. If a part is defective or dead-on-arrival inside the warranty window shown on its product page, we'll replace it. No manufacturer runaround, no waiting on hold with someone else — just call or come by the shop.

What's covered

Stout Auto Parts warrants that the part will be free from manufacturing defects and will arrive functional, for the number of days stated on the product page (30, 60, or 90 days from date of purchase, or marked “Sold As-Is” where no warranty applies). If a covered part is defective or dead-on-arrival (DOA) within its warranty window, Stout will replace it with the same or a comparable part at no additional cost.

About our inventory & manufacturer warranties

Much of Stout's inventory is new parts acquired through bulk liquidation of closed retail locations (including former CarQuest, Advance Auto Parts, and Pep Boys stock). Because these parts did not move through the manufacturer's standard authorized-dealer channel, we cannot always confirm whether the original manufacturer's warranty is still valid for a given item, and manufacturer warranty terms vary by brand.

Rather than make a claim we can't verify, Stout backs every part with its own warranty as described above. If a part's original packaging includes a manufacturer warranty card or registration, we'll include it with your purchase — you're welcome to pursue that warranty directly with the manufacturer — but Stout does not represent or guarantee that the manufacturer will honor it.

How to make a claim

Warranty disclaimer

Except for the express limited warranty described in this policy, all products sold by Stout Auto Parts are provided “as is” and “with all faults.” Stout Auto Parts expressly disclaims all implied warranties, including the implied warranty of merchantability and the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by Idaho law. Stout Auto Parts does not represent or warrant that any original manufacturer warranty applies to, or transfers with, products purchased from Stout Auto Parts. Manufacturer warranty eligibility, if any, is determined solely by the manufacturer and varies by brand and product.
